This interesting question was asked by one of our customers.
The answer is simply NO, not in EZY Access storage.
But YES in some other facilities.
For example, some self storage companies have closing times at which they lock down the pin number operated gates. This means that all pin numbers are deactivated until they reopen the next day.
Should you happen to be inside a facility like that, you will be locked in.
You need to call (and hope to reach) the manager to open the gates for you or climb the fence to get out.
Surely another point to consider before renting a storage unit.
Insurance is a complex issue.
When using self storage one question is always popping up:
Will my goods be insured?
The simple answer is: No.
Insurance is a bit of a weak point in the self storage industry.
Goods stored in a self storage facility do not have insurance cover by default. It is the storers responsibility to look after his/her own insurance.
Some self storage facilities do not offer insurance at all. Others do, but most of the companies will not disclose what can and can not be insured.
The insurance policies differ slightly, but the list below will give you a good idea of common items NOT covered:

Before you consider taking out insurance with your self storage facility, make sure you do read the fine print. The same goes when a facility offers you “full insurance” included in the rent. Read everything before signing anything.

Is the storage unit rainproof? Some companies offer outside containers as storage units. Those are most commonly not rainproof which could result in water damage to your stored goods.
Blankets
Some of your goods may need extra protection like blankets to protect them from scratches. Does the self storage facility offer those?
Lock
Can you lock your storage unit? Some facilities offer only unlockable units which is a high security risk.
Elevator
If a storage facility has first floor units, does it offer an elevator? Are the hallways and elevator wide enough to allow you to manoeuvre large items of furniture?
Trolleys
Some of your goods may be too heavy to be carried. Does the storage facility offer trolleys for you to use?
Driveway size
Customers have their goods often delivered by a transport company. The question you need to ask is, will the truck fit into the driveway or does the truck have to be unloaded some distance away from your unit? This would, in many cases, lead to higher costs as transport companies would charge you for the extra hours needed.
Roof
Only a very few storage facilities offer a covered driveway that protects you and your goods from getting wet during loading and unloading. You have to ask whether their driveway is high enough to allow a larger truck to drive under it completely.
Office hours
Problems can happen every day. So check the office hours. Are they open every day? What about after hours? Can you reach the storage facility and speak to a staff member or are your calls forwarded to a call centre or an answering service.

The best way to find out is to ask yourself the following questions:
Q. Is my garage/shed/house filled with items I do not use currently but do not like to dispose off?
